1. GKS-U ဆိုတာဘာလဲ? GKS = Global Korea Scholarship GKS-U = Global Korea Scholarship – Undergraduate Degrees ကိုရီးယားအစိုးရရဲ့ NIIED (National Institute for International Education) က နိုင်ငံတကာကျောင်းသားတွေကို Korea မှာ Associate Degree / Bachelor’s Degree တက်နိုင်အောင် ပေးတဲ့ Government Scholarship ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ရည်ရွယ်ချက်က International Students တွေကို Korea မှာ ပညာသင်ခွင့်ပေးပြီး နိုင်ငံတကာပညာရေးဖလှယ်မှုနဲ့ Korea နဲ့ participating countries တွေရဲ့ ဆက်ဆံရေး ပိုကောင်းလာစေဖို့ပါ။ 2. Scholarship ရသွားရင် ဘယ်လောက်ကြာမလဲ? Program နှစ်မျိုးရှိပါတယ်။ Bachelor’s Degree Korean Language Program — ၁ နှစ် Bachelor Degree — ၄ နှစ်မှ ၆ နှစ် စုစုပေါင်း Scholarship Period — ၅ နှစ်မှ ၇ နှစ် Associate Degree Korean Language Program — ၁ နှစ် Associate Degree — ၂ နှစ်မှ ၃ နှစ် စုစုပေါင်း — ၃ နှစ်မှ ၄ နှစ် ဒါကြောင့် “GKS-U ရသွားတာနဲ့ တက္ကသိုလ်ကို ချက်ချင်းတက်ရတာလား” ဆိုရင် ပုံမှန်အားဖြင့် မဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ အရင် Korean Language Training ၁ နှစ် တက်ပြီးမှ Degree Program ဝင်ရတာပါ။ 3. TOPIK ကောင်းပြီးသားဆို Korean Language ၁ နှစ်တက်ရသေးလား? TOPIK Level 5 သို့မဟုတ် 6 ရှိပြီးသားဆို Korean Language Program ကို Exempt လုပ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ Degree Program ကို တိုက်ရိုက်စတင်ရပါတယ်။ Language Program တက်နေစဉ် ပထမ ၆ လအတွင်း TOPIK 5/6 ရခဲ့ရင်လည်း ကျန်တဲ့ ၆ လကို မတက်တော့ဘဲ နောက် semester မှာ Degree စနိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် TOPIK မရှိဘူးဆိုပြီး GKS လျှောက်လို့မရတာ မဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ TOPIK/TOEFL/IELTS certificates တွေဟာ GKS application အတွက် optional ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ သို့သော် University/Department တချို့က သူတို့ကိုယ်ပိုင် language requirement သတ်မှတ်ထားနိုင်ပါတယ်။ 4. ဘယ်သူတွေ GKS-U လျှောက်နိုင်လဲ? အရေးကြီးဆုံး Eligibility တွေကို တစ်ခုချင်းကြည့်မယ်။ (A) Nationality လျှောက်မယ့်သူက မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသားဖြစ်ရပါမယ်။ လျှောက်မယ့်သူရဲ့ မိဘတွေလည်း မြန်မာဖြစ်ရပါမယ်။ UIC Program ကတော့ Korea မဟုတ်တဲ့ နိုင်ငံအားလုံးက လျှောက်နိုင်တဲ့ program ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ 5. ပညာအရည်အချင်း ဘယ်လောက်လိုလဲ? Bachelor လျှောက်မယ်ဆို High School graduate ဖြစ်ရမယ် Associate Degree လျှောက်မယ်ဆို High School graduate ဖြစ်ရပါမယ်။ (GED/IELTS/OCCD မရပါ) Bachelor degree ရပြီးသားသူ GKS-U Bachelor ပြန်လျှောက်လို့ မရပါဘူး။ Major ပြောင်းချင်တာပဲဖြစ်ဖြစ် မရပါဘူး။ အဲဒီလိုဆို GKS-G graduate scholarship ဘက်ကို ကြည့်ရပါမယ်။ 6. CGPA ဘယ်လောက်လိုလဲ? ဒီနေရာက အရေးကြီးပါတယ်။ Previous education ရဲ့ overall cumulative GPA က အောက်က requirement နှစ်ခုထဲက တစ်ခုခု ပြည့်ရပါမယ်။ နည်းလမ်း (1) 100-point scale မှာ 80% နှင့်အထက် သို့မဟုတ် အတန်းထဲ Top 20% အတွင်း နည်းလမ်း (2) CGPA က အနည်းဆုံး— 2.64 / 4.0 2.80 / 4.3 2.91 / 4.5 3.23 / 5.0 ထဲက ကိုယ့် GPA scale နဲ့ကိုက်ညီတာ ပြည့်ရပါမယ်။ ဥပမာ High School percentage 78% ပဲရှိတယ်၊ Top 20% လည်းမဟုတ်ဘူးဆိုရင် basic academic eligibility မပြည့်နိုင်ပါဘူး။ တစ်ဖက်မှာ 80% ပြည့်တယ်ဆိုလည်း scholarship အလိုအလျောက်ရသွားတာမဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ အဲဒါက လျှောက်ခွင့်ရှိတဲ့ minimum eligibility ပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Transcript ထဲမှာ GKS သတ်မှတ်ထားတဲ့ GPA scale မပါဘူးဆိုရင် school က officially certified လုပ်ထားတဲ့ conversion / grading system explanation လိုပါတယ်။ 7. အသက်ဘယ်လောက်အထိ လျှောက်လို့ရလဲ? 2026 GKS-U အတွက် အသက် 25 နှစ်အောက် ဖြစ်ရပါတယ်။ Official guideline မှာ— Born after March 1, 2001 လို့ သတ်မှတ်ထားပါတယ်။ ဒါက 2026 cycle-specific date ပါ။ နောက်နှစ်ဆို official guideline မှာ သတ်မှတ်ထားတဲ့ birth-date cutoff ကို ပြန်ကြည့်ရပါမယ်။ 8. Health Requirement TB မရှိရပါဘူး၊ မူးယစ်ဆေးသုံးထားတဲ့ record တွေမရှိရပါဘူး။ Overseas travel မလုပ်နိုင်စေမယ့် disqualification ဥပမာ criminal history စတဲ့ ပြဿနာလည်း မရှိရပါဘူး။ 9. ဘယ်သူတွေ မလျှောက်နိုင်တာလဲ? အဓိက restriction တွေက— Korea ရှိ High School ကနေ graduate/expected graduate ဖြစ်သူ၊ Korea ရှိ Associate Degree program က graduate ဖြစ်သူတွေဟာ generally GKS-U eligibility မရှိပါဘူး။ အရင်က Korean Government-funded degree scholarship ရဖူးသူ၊ previous GKS degree scholar တချို့လည်း ထပ်လျှောက်လို့မရပါဘူး။ GKS scholar အဖြစ်ရွေးခံပြီး နောက်မှ scholarship ကို cancel/withdraw ဖြစ်ထားသူတွေအတွက်လည်း restrictions ရှိပါတယ်။ ထို့အပြင် duplicate applications က တင်းကြပ်ပါတယ်။ Exchange Student အဖြစ် Korea မှာ တက်ခဲ့ဖူးတာတစ်ခုတည်းနဲ့တော့ automatically disqualified မဖြစ်ပါဘူး။ 10. Embassy Track နဲ့ University Track ဆိုတာဘာကွာလဲ? GKS-U မှာ လျှောက်တဲ့လမ်းကြောင်း ၂ ခု အဓိကရှိပါတယ်။ Embassy Track ကိုယ့်နိုင်ငံက Korean Embassy ကနေ လျှောက်တာပါ။ 2026 မှာ Embassy Track က— General Overseas Koreans R-GKS ဆိုပြီးရှိပါတယ်။ General / Overseas Korean Applicant ဆိုရင် University ၃ ကျောင်းအထိ ရွေးနိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် University ၃ ခုထဲမှာ အနည်းဆုံး Type B University တစ်ကျောင်း ပါရမယ်။ R-GKS ဆိုရင် Type B University ၂ ကျောင်းအထိ ရွေးနိုင်ပါတယ်။ Embassy Track Selection Flow Applicant → Korean Embassy → NIIED → Universities → Final ဆိုပြီး အဆင့်များပါတယ်။ အကြမ်းအားဖြင့်— Embassy First Round NIIED Second Round University Third Round Final Selection ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ 11. University Track ကရော? University Track ဆိုတာ GKS participating university ကို တိုက်ရိုက်လျှောက်တာပါ။ 2026 GKS-U University Track မှာ— UIC Associate Degree program တွေရှိပါတယ်။ University Track Applicant က— University တစ်ကျောင်း + Department တစ်ခုပဲ လျှောက်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ နှစ်ကျောင်း၊ သုံးကျောင်း လိုက်လျှောက်တာ မရပါဘူး။ Duplicate တွေ့ရင် selection ကနေ ဖယ်နိုင်ပြီး၊ scholarship ရပြီးမှတွေ့လည်း cancellation ဖြစ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ University Track Selection Flow Applicant → University First Round → NIIED Second Round → Final ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Embassy Track ထက် University ရွေးခွင့်နည်းပေမယ့် မိမိ target school/major တိတိကျကျသိထားသူတွေအတွက် စဉ်းစားလို့ရပါတယ်။ 12. UIC ဆိုတာဘာလဲ? UIC = University Industry Cooperation Industry-University cooperation နဲ့ ဆက်စပ်ပြီး Natural Science / Engineering-focused curriculum + field experience ပေးတဲ့ program ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ 2026 Bachelor UIC majors တွေမှာ ဥပမာ— Software / Computer Engineering Electronic Engineering AI Software Artificial Intelligence Mechanical Engineering Smart Security Statistics / Big Data Environmental Engineering စတဲ့ fields တွေပါဝင်ပါတယ်။ 13. 2026 GKS-U Scholarship နေရာဘယ်နှယောက်လဲ? 2026 total quota က 280 scholars ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Embassy Track — 150 General — 82 Overseas Koreans — 7 R-GKS — 61 University Track — 130 UIC — 100 Associate Degree — 30 14. ဘယ် Universities လျှောက်လို့ရလဲ? Embassy Track Universities ကို Type A / Type B ခွဲထားပါတယ်။ Type A မှာ Seoul / metropolitan-area ကိုယ်စားပြု competitive schools များစွာပါပြီး Type B မှာ Regional Universities တွေများပါတယ်။ အရေးကြီးတာက— “Korea က ဘယ် university မဆို GKS နဲ့လျှောက်လို့ရတာ” မဟုတ်ပါဘူး။ အဲဒီနှစ် GKS မှာ NIIED ထုတ်ထားတဲ့ University Information file ထဲက University + Department ကိုပဲ လျှောက်ရပါတယ်။ 15. Application Documents ဘာတွေလိုလဲ? 2026 GKS-U အတွက် အဓိက Forms က— Form 1 – Application Form Form 2 – Personal Statement Form 3 – Study Plan Form 4 – Recommender’s Information + Recommendation Letter Form 5 – GKS Applicant Agreement Form 6 – Personal Medical Assessment လိုပါတယ်။ ပြီးရင် Official Certificates— Applicant + Parents Citizenship Proof Family Relationship Proof High School Graduation Certificate / Expected Graduation Certificate High School Transcript လိုပါတယ်။ Associate degree ရှိရင်— Associate Graduation Certificate Associate Transcript စတာတွေ ထပ်လိုနိုင်ပါတယ်။ Optional / relevant documents တွေက— TOPIK TOEFL / IELTS Awards / Certificates Passport copy Korean War Veteran descendant proof Overseas Korean proof Korean citizenship renunciation proof စတာတွေပါ။ 16. Apostille ဆိုတာဘာလဲ? Documents တွေကို ဒီတိုင်းတင်လို့ရလား? GKS မှာ စာရွက်စာတမ်း preparation က အရမ်းအရေးကြီးပါတယ်။ First Round မှာ Embassy / University က သူတို့ရဲ့ submission rule ကို သီးသန့်သတ်မှတ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် NIIED stage ရောက်တဲ့ required certificates တွေက generally— English/Korean documents → Apostille or Consular Confirmation လိုပါတယ်။ English/Korean မဟုတ်တဲ့ documents ဆိုရင်— Certified translation Apostille / Consular Confirmation လိုပါတယ်။ ပြီးတော့— Passport ထဲက English name နဲ့ Application document ထဲက name တူရပါမယ်။ Documents ကို checklist အစဉ်အတိုင်း A4 size ပြင်ပြီး label/number တပ်ပေးဖို့လည်း guideline မှာ သတ်မှတ်ထားပါတယ်။ NIIED ကိုပို့ပြီးသား original documents တွေကို ပြန်မပေးပါဘူး၊ ဒါကြောင့် originals/certified copies ကို ကြိုတင်စီမံထားဖို့ အရေးကြီးပါတယ်။ 17. Personal Statement နဲ့ Study Plan က အရေးကြီးလား? အရမ်းအရေးကြီးပါတယ်။ GPA eligibility ပြည့်ရုံနဲ့ မရပါဘူး။ Selection Committee က— Qualification Academic background Competency Documents Personal Statement Study Plan Interview တွေကိုကြည့်ပါတယ်။ Personal Statement မှာ “Korea ကိုကြိုက်လို့သွားချင်တယ်” တစ်ခုပဲရေးတာထက်— Past → Motivation → Activities → Major connection → Future Goal ဆက်စပ်အောင်ပြနိုင်ရပါမယ်။ Study Plan မှာလည်း— ဘာ major သင်မလဲ → Korea မှာ ဘာလုပ်မလဲ → ဘာ skill ရယူမလဲ → graduation ပြီးရင် ဘာလုပ်မလဲ ဆိုတဲ့ logical connection ကောင်းဖို့လိုပါတယ်။ 18. TOPIK ရှိရင် ဘယ်လောက်အကျိုးရှိလဲ? 2026 guideline မှာ TOPIK Level 3 or above ရှိသူကို additional 10% points ပေးထားပါတယ်။ Language proficiency scoring အရ— Score TOPIK TOEFL iBT IELTS 100% Level 5/6 90% Level 4 114+ 8.0+ 80% Level 3 95+ 7.0+ 70% Level 2 72+ 6.0+ 60% Level 1 42+ 5.0+ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် TOPIK မရှိလည်း လျှောက်လို့ရတယ် ဆိုတာမှန်ပေမယ့်၊ TOPIK ကောင်းကောင်းရှိရင် selection မှာ အကျိုးရှိပါတယ်။ 19. Engineering / Science Major ဆို Advantage ရှိလား? 2026 guideline အရ Science & Engineering Department applicants ကို additional 5% points ပေးပါတယ်။ ဒါ့အပြင် evaluation preference မှာလည်း Science/Engineering applicants တွေပါဝင်ပါတယ်။ အခြား preference တွေထဲမှာ— Overseas Koreans Low-income / underprivileged background Science & Engineering applicants Associate Degree technical competition winners High English proficiency score တို့ပါပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် “Engineering ဆိုရင် အလိုအလျောက်နိုင်မယ်” လို့တော့ မဆိုလိုပါဘူး။ 20. Interview ရှိလား? ရှိပါတယ်။ Selection Committee က documents စစ်ပြီး oral interview နဲ့ applicant competency ကို evaluate လုပ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ မေးနိုင်တာတွေက အများအားဖြင့်— Why Korea? Why this university? Why this major? Why GKS? Future plan? Personal Statement ထဲက activity တကယ်လုပ်ခဲ့လား? Korea ကိုရောက်ရင် ဘယ်လို adapt လုပ်မလဲ? Major knowledge Korean / English communication စတဲ့ဘက်တွေ ဖြစ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ Interview မှာ အရေးကြီးဆုံးက Application ထဲရေးထားတဲ့ story နဲ့ ပြောတဲ့ answer မကွာဖို့ပါ။ 21. Embassy Track မှာ University ၃ ကျောင်းရွေးလို့ရတယ်ဆို တော်တော်အားသာတာလား? တစ်စိတ်တစ်ပိုင်းတော့ ဟုတ်ပါတယ်။ General Embassy Track မှာ ၃ ကျောင်းအထိ လျှောက်နိုင်တဲ့အတွက် chance diversify လုပ်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် Guideline က သတိပေးထားတာရှိပါတယ်— ၃ ကျောင်းလုံးကို highly competitive universities တွေချည်း ရွေးရင် NIIED round အောင်ပြီးသားတောင် နောက်ဆုံး University admission ၃ ကျောင်းလုံးကျနိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် University Selection strategy က အရေးကြီးပါတယ်။ 22. Embassy Track ကျသွားရင် University Track ထပ်လျှောက်လို့ရလား? Embassy First Round မအောင်ခဲ့ဘူးဆိုရင် University Track ကို ပြန်လျှောက်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် Embassy First Round ကို pass လုပ်ထားသူ—backup candidate ပါအပါအဝင်—University Track ကို တစ်ပြိုင်နက်ထပ်လျှောက်လို့ မရပါဘူး။ 23. Selection အောင်ပြီးရင် University ပြောင်းလို့ရလား? မရပါဘူး။ Final university အတည်ပြုပြီးသွားရင် Korean Language Program တက်နေစဉ်ဖြစ်ဖြစ် Degree Program တက်နေစဉ်ဖြစ်ဖြစ်— University change / transfer မလုပ်နိုင်ပါဘူး။ ဒါကြောင့် application စတင်ကတည်းက university ရွေးတဲ့နေရာကို သေချာစဉ်းစားဖို့လိုပါတယ်။ 24. Scholarship က ဘာတွေ cover လုပ်ပေးလဲ? ဒီအပိုင်းက လူအများဆုံးစိတ်ဝင်စားတဲ့အပိုင်းပါ။ ✈️ Airfare Korea သွားတဲ့ Economy Class Flight Ticket — actual expense cover ပါပါတယ်။ 🎓 Tuition Degree Program Tuition ကို NIIED က တစ်နှစ်လျှင် KRW 5 million အထိ support လုပ်ပါတယ်။ 5 million ကျော်တဲ့ amount နဲ့ Admission Fee ကို University ဘက်က cover လုပ်ပါတယ်။ 🇰🇷 Korean Language Training KRW 5.2 million / year 💰 Allowance Korean Language Program အတွင်း— KRW 12,840,000 / year တစ်လအကြမ်းအားဖြင့် KRW 1,070,000 Degree Program အတွင်း— KRW 13,680,000 / year တစ်လအကြမ်းအားဖြင့် KRW 1,140,000 ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် Monthly Allowance ကို “living money တစ်ခုတည်း” လို့ မယူဆသင့်ပါဘူး။ Guideline အရ ဒီ allowance ထဲမှာ— Living expenses Health insurance Korean proficiency grants TOPIK application fee Settlement allowance Degree completion grants စတဲ့ subsidies တွေကို all-inclusive အနေနဲ့ ထည့်တွက်ထားပါတယ်။ Scholarship amount တွေက budget အခြေအနေပေါ်မူတည်ပြီး change ဖြစ်နိုင်တယ်လို့လည်း guideline က မှတ်ချက်ပေးထားပါတယ်။ 25. Korea မှာရှိပြီးသားသူရော လျှောက်လို့ရလား? Eligibility အခြားအချက်တွေပြည့်ရင် case ပေါ်မူတည်ပြီး ဖြစ်နိုင်ပေမယ့် Final announcement အချိန်မှာ Korea ထဲနေပြီးသား newly selected scholar ကို entry airfare မပေးပါဘူး။ ပြီးတော့ လက်ရှိ D-4, D-2 စတဲ့ residence visa ရှိသူတွေဟာ GKS Program အတွက် visa ပြောင်းတဲ့အခါ immigration issues ဖြစ်နိုင်တာကြောင့် final selection ပြီးတာနဲ့ Immigration ကို စစ်ဆေးဖို့ guideline က ပြောထားပါတယ်။ 26.
